Spanish Bay
Located along the rugged Pacific coastline on California’s Monterey Peninsula, The Links at Spanish Bay offers one of the most authentic links-style golf experiences in the United States. Designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr., Tom Watson, and Sandy Tatum, the course winds through rolling dunes, sandy waste areas, and native coastal vegetation, with sweeping ocean views on many holes. Inspired by the classic seaside courses of Scotland and Ireland, Spanish Bay emphasizes firm conditions, strategic bunkering, and the influence of coastal winds, encouraging players to use creativity and the ground game to navigate the layout.
Fun Fact: Each evening at Spanish Bay, a bagpiper walks along the coastline and plays as the sun sets over the Pacific Ocean, creating one of the most iconic and memorable traditions in golf.
